Senior Escort Service/Share-A-Ride

The Transportation programs provide service to low-income, frail older adults of Lackawanna County for medical, social, or nutrition services as well as assistance provided to low-income and/or disabled adults who require transportation for medical appointments. These services accommodate unmet transportation and escort needs within our community, and are fully coordinated with the County van service. Transportation assistance is provided by volunteer/staff vehicles as well as by Telespond vans. Area veterans are also accommodated in getting to medically necessary services at the V.A. Medical Center in Luzerne County. In order to be eligible for Telespond's Senior Escort transportation service, consumers must reside in Lackawanna County, PA, ambulate with the use of a cane or walker, be unable to board a bus or van, and without any other means of transportation.
